The nominees for the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards have been released, and they recognize some of our favorite films and TV series that have aired in the recent few months. This year’s ceremony will mix both films and TV series, as well as non-scripted content, into a single event next month.

Spider-Man: No Way Home had the most nominations, with seven, including Best Movie, Best Performance in a Movie (Tom Holland), Best Hero (Tom Holland), Best Villain (Willem Dafoe), Best Kiss (Tom Holland and Zendaya), Best Fight (Spider-Men end fight), and Best Team (Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire).

The Batman was also nominated for four awards, including Best Movie, Best Performance in a Movie (Robert Pattinson), Best Villain (Colin Farrell), and Best Kiss (Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz).

Other MCU films and TV shows that received nominations included Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings for Best Movie, Best Hero for Simu Liu, and Best Fight for the bus fight scene, Loki for Best Show, Best Team for Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, and Owen Wilson, Best Breakthrough Performance for Sophia Di Martino, Moon Knight (Best Hero for Oscar Isaac), and Black Widow (Best Hero for Scarlett Johansson and Best Fight for “Black Widow vs. Widows”).

Dune also received nominations for Best Picture and Best Performance in a Leading Role for Timothee Chalamet.

Ryan Reynolds and Walker Scobell joined the race for Best Movie and Best Team for The Adam Project. Reynolds was nominated for Best Comedic Performance in Free Guy as well as Best Fight for the film’s “Guy vs. Dude” segment.

Squid Game (Best Show and Best Breakthrough Performance for Jung Ho-Yeon) and Peacemaker (Best Comedic Performance for John Cena) are two prominent television nominees.

It is nice to see these nominations since they deserve all of the love from fans, and the list is packed with famous TV series and films that have been the talk of the town for months. Of course, there is still one more stage as fans must now vote for the winners, and it will be intriguing to see who wins.

The 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards will be broadcast live from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on June 5.
