J.K. Simmons, who starred in Spider-Man: No Way Home, reprised his role as the renowned Daily Bugle editor-in-chief J. Jonah Jameson in the recently released movie. However, while the third installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man film series may have seemed wrapped, Jameson’s involvement in the MCU seem not to come to the end yet.
Simmons mentioned his reappearance in a recent interview with Deadline and hinted, “I think I’m going to be in more. So, fingers crossed.” He made no mention of the character’s future, including the films in which he may appear or the role Jameson might play in those stories.
J. Jonah Jameson comes as a surprise cameo role towards the end of 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, in which he played a critical role in disclosing the Web-identity Slinger’s to the public. He reappeared in No Way Home, pursuing his vendetta against Spider-Man and inspiring hatred toward the former Avenger.

Simmons is the only actor to have portrayed Jameson in live-action media since 2002’s Spider-Man. Although Tobey Maguire’s Spidey had a cameo appearance in No Way Home, the two characters did not cross paths in the multiverse-exploring picture. However, a recent rumor suggests that there may be more to come.
Recently, it was rumored that an extended cut of No Way Home is on the way. According to a Reddit member who claims to have been validated by the subreddit’s moderators, an expanded version of the smash hit will be released in March, at least in Indonesia. It’s worth noting that the user has a track record of No Way Home leaks, having been the first to announce Maguire’s return via concept art.
Additionally, it has been rumored that Spider-Man: No Way Home’s digital release date has been moved back to March 22. However, neither Marvel Studios nor Sony Pictures have announced an official date for the film’s digital distribution.
The film was a critical and commercial triumph, which is a box-office juggernaut with $1.8 billion globally at the box office—the first film to achieve so during the epidemic era. By comparison, the film’s predecessors in the MCU, Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Black Widow, grossed $402 million, $432 million, and $379 million, respectively.
