Fans undoubtedly still long for the “Genius, Billionaire, Playboy, Philanthropist” to return to the billion-dollar series because Robert Downey Jr.’s departure from the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2019 created a big gap that will definitely be difficult to fill.

With the Multiverse Saga currently underway, there’s a good chance that Iron Man will once more appear in Earth-616 via multiversal antics. Additionally, if the most recent rumors are to be believed, RDJ may be returning to the MCU in Avengers 5 and 6 to face Kang the Conqueror.
According to a recent source, Downey wants to work with an old friend once again on a future project in addition to the next Avengers movies. The fourth Spider-Man movie, which will see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man go back to his street-level roots, will feature the MCU pioneer, according to the folks at Giant Freakin Robot.
The extent of RDJ’s involvement in the project is yet unknown, but given that Earth-616 Stark no longer exists, unless Marvel Studios pulls a surprise resurrection, there’s a good likelihood he’ll end up playing a different version of the character.
Of course, choosing that course of action has a significant drawback because Tony’s sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame will lose all meaning even though it’s the most practical thing to do. Even while I’d love to see him return to the series, I want to make sure that it’s done professionally and not just for the sake of the fans. But if I claimed I didn’t want to see Stark and Parker reconcile on the big screen, I’d be lying.
As of now, Spider-Man 4’s official release date has not been determined.
