Carpool Karaoke began as a frequent part of James Corden‘s Late Late Show, in which the host Corden would drive around with a celebrity or celebrities while singing music together. In 2016, Apple Music bought up the segment and developed it into a separate series, which premiered in 2017. In August 2021, the fifth season was announced, along with the fact that the show will be migrating to Apple TV+. Will Smith, Shaquille O’Neal, John Cena, Keegan-Michael Key, and Rob Gronkowski are among the previous guests on the series.
