Season 2 of Apple TV+’s The Mosquito Coast has recruited numerous new performers to its roster, including Harry Potter and Agents of Shield veterans. The Mosquito Coast is based on the universe of the same-named 1981 novel and follows idealistic scientist Allie Fox, played by Justin Theroux, as he flees the US government with his family to Mexico. The thriller adventure series premiered on the streaming service in 2021, and it was quickly renewed for a second season.
According to Deadline, numerous new cast members have been added to The Mosquito Coast season 2 cast list. Natalia Cordova-Buckley, who starred as Yo-Yo Rodriguez on Marvel’s Agents of Shield, will join the series with Ariyon Bakare from His Dark Materials and Ian Hart from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. All three actors will appear in the series in roles that have yet to be revealed. The addition of new cast members ensures that the series’ sophomore season, which will see Theroux and the first season’s actors return, will be full of new experiences.
The series was extended for a second season soon before season 1 finished in June, with both audiences and critics praising the new show. Meanwhile, Bakare, a new cast member, will make his big-screen debut in 2023, lending his voice to an animated rendition of Terry Pratchett’s The Amazing Maurice. Cordova-Buckley had a role in Pixar’s Coco, while Hart had a role in the TV show The Responder. Season 2 of The Mosquito Coast is currently in development, and season 1 is available exclusively on Apple TV+.
