Her first leading role in a TV project will be in the thriller produced by Warner Bros. TV.
In addition to playing one of her earliest parts in a TV series, Scarlett Johansson will also reprise another early part of her career.

In Just Cause, a limited series on Amazon’s Prime Video based on a 1992 novel by John Katzenbach, Johansson will both star in and executive produce. The project from Warner Bros. TV and author Christy Hall has received a straight-to-series order from the streaming service.
An earlier feature film version of the book, starring Sean Connery, was released in 1995. Johansson played the character’s daughter in one of her earliest film roles.
Madison “Madi” Cowart (Johansson), a reporter for a Florida newspaper assigned to cover the final days of a death row inmate, will be the main character of the Just Cause television series. She begins to believe the prisoner’s claims of innocence.
Producing alongside Warner Bros. is the Johansson-owned banner These Pictures. Johansson, Hall, Jonathan Lia, and Keenan Flynn of These Pictures will all executive produce TV. Zara Duff, the organization’s head of television, will be in charge of the initiative.
Johansson is currently shooting Project Artemis for Apple TV+ with director Greg Berlanti. Additionally, the two-time Oscar nominee has Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City and Kristin Scott Thomas’ My Mother’s Wedding in the works. Black Widow will mark the end of her tenure in the MCU. She is handled by Yorn Levine attorney Kevin Yorn and CAA.
Representatives for Hall include Yorn Levine attorney Miles Metcoff, Grandview, and CAA.
