
The animated series Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles, which is based on Stan Sakai’s Eisner-winning Dark Horse Comics comic book series Usagi Yojimbo, has been given a release date by Netflix. The main character, Samurai Yuichi, is played by Netflix’s Never Have I Ever actor Darren Barnet. Shelby Rabara, Aleks Le, and Mallory Low are among the cast’s voice performers. Sakai is a Gaumont, Dark Horse Entertainment, and Atomic Monster executive producer. Usagi Yojimbo has been written, drawn, and lettered by Sakai for 37 years, and he has previously appeared in various Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series.
Netflix has set an April 28 premiere date for Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles. The new series’ showrunners, writers, and executive producers are Candie and Doug Langdale. I, Chihuahua, a Netflix animated feature starring Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, is also written by the famous writing partnership. The duo has also worked on films like The Adventures of Puss in Boots and Scooby-Doo! Shaggy’s Showdown in the past. Sakai is also said to be very engaged with Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles, stating, “I approve everything.”


Samurai Yuichi, a descendant of the famous warrior Miyamoto Usagi, embarks on an epic adventure to become a genuine samurai in Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles. Yuichi leads a ragtag band of misfit heroes – including a rogue bounty hunter, a cunning ninja, an acrobatic pickpocket, and a devoted pet lizard – in battles against depth-charging moles, metal-tipped winged bats, and creatures from another dimension – all in the quest to become the best Samurai Usagi!
