The action-thriller Samaritan, starring three-time Oscar nominee Sylvester Stallone (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) has just got its trailer. The film is slated to hit Prime Video on August 26.
The film, helmed by Julius Avery (Overlord), revolves around 13-year-old Sam Cleary (Euphoria’s Javon “Wanna” Walton), who has a hunch that his enigmatic and reclusive neighbor Mr. Smith (played by Stallone) is truly a legendary figure who is hidden in plain sight. Samaritan, the super-powered hero of Granite City, was believed to have perished in a warehouse brawl with his archenemy Nemesis 25 years ago. Some people in the city, including Sam, continue to hold out hope that Samaritan is still alive despite the widespread belief that he was killed in the fire. With crime on the increase and the city on the verge of chaos, Sam is determined to bring his neighbor out of hiding in order to rescue the city from destruction.
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Balboa Productions are behind the film, which stars Pilou Asbaek (Uncharted), Moises Arias (Jockey), Dascha Polanco (Gordita Chronicles), and others. Stallone and Aftergood serve as producers, while Schut, Adam Rosenberg, David Kern, and Guy Riedel are in charge of executive production.
