Salma Hayek has been cast with Channing Tatum in Warner Bros.’ Magic Mike’s The Last Dance, taking over for Thandiwe Newton, who was unable to continue working on the project due to personal reasons.
A spokesperson for Warner Bros. shared it was a difficult decision for Thandiwe Newton to give up production on Warner Bros. Pictures’ Magic Mike’s Last Dance. to solve family problems.
The film is now under development in London and will make its television debut on HBO Max.

Steven Soderbergh, who helmed the first Magic Mike picture, returns to direct this one, with Reid Carolyn penning the screenplay. Gregory Jacobs, who helmed the critically acclaimed Magic Mike XXL in 2015, returns to produce with Carolin, Nick Wechsler, and Peter Kiernan.
The first two films grossed approximately $300 million worldwide. The hit stage performance Magic Mike Live was also born out of the franchise in 2017.
Eternals is Hayek‘s most recent role in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. CAA and Management 360 represent her.
