Netflix has revealed that a sequel and spin-off for Ryan Gosling‘s The Gray Man are getting underways, following the film’s streaming debut.

Having Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling in the starring roles and the Russo brothers (at the helm of Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame) as the film’s directors, The Gray Man embodied all the ingredients for success. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Netflix already has plans to expand on the storyline of the film.
Netflix has announced that a sequel is now underways, with the Russo brothers at the helm and AGBO serving as the production firm. The specifics of the spin-off are being kept under wraps, but we do know that it will be written by the same team who created Deadpool, Paul Wernick, and Rhett Reese and that it will have an R rating.
The sequel to The Gray Man will be written by Stephen McFeeley, who co-wrote the first film with his Avengers: Endgame writing partner Christopher Markus. Ryan Gosling is expected to reprise his role.
This weekend, The Gray Man ascended to the top-grossing film in 92 countries and had an audience rating of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes. With a budget of $200 million, this was Netflix’s most costly picture to date, and the investment looks to have paid off.
The film is now available to stream on Netflix.
