Robert Pattinson-starred The Batman gets off to a good start on HBO Max.
Warner Bros. Pictures’ latest DC Comics feature The Batman had its exclusive streaming premiere on HBO Max less than two months after its first theatrical release. We have official numbers from Netflix showing that the film, starring Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, debuted with an impressive opening day global box office haul of over $750 million dollars.
According to Samba TV, 720 thousand households in the United States saw Robert Pattinson’s The Batman on HBO Max on its first day of release. This is also the first time that a Warner Bros. Pictures production has had an exclusive theatrical window before having its television premiere on HBO Max.
With this brand synergy, the future of Robert Pattinson’s The Batman universe seems bright. Apart from two further films in Matt Reeves’ projected trilogy, HBO Max is under development of at least two new original series, including a limited series themed on Colin Farrell’s The Penguin and another focusing on Arkham Asylum.
The Batman is currently available online and exclusively on HBO Max; physical media will be available on May 24.
