Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. were sighted on the set of Christopher Nolan‘s Oppenheimer looking sharp.
The film is a biography of J. Robert Oppenheimer, who is widely credited with inventing the atomic bomb. Murphy portrays Oppenheimer, while Downey Jr. portrays Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Lewis Strauss, who was instrumental in rescinding Oppenheimer’s security clearance.
Murphy is clad in a hat and suspenders in the photographs, while a gray-haired Downey Jr. is similarly attired.
The film is Nolan’s follow-up to 2020’s Tenet, which was released in the midst of the epidemic. According to Universal, Oppenheimer is an epic thriller that “thrusts audiences into the pulse-pounding paradox of the enigmatic man who must risk destroying the world in order to save it.” With such an impressive ensemble with Nolan at the helm, the picture is building up to be something really extraordinary.
Oppenheimer will likewise be a theater exclusive, with a July 21, 2023 release date.
