Netflix decided against continuing Resident Evil after the program’s underwhelming July premiere.

The Resident Evil video game series has generated six motion pictures, an animated feature, and this year, a live-action television series on Netflix. In July, the Resident Evil series made its Netflix premiere at #2 and received negative reviews from a lot of critics. Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, an animated series, was also released on Netflix in 2017.
Netflix has committed to video game adaptations at a time when many streamers are searching for IP to develop content, with projects based on Assassin’s Creed, Splinter Cell, Bioshock, The Division, and Tomb Raider in the works. Netflix will not create a new season of the Resident Evil franchise, despite the streamer’s reputation for giving shows at least two.
Lance Reddick, Ella Balinska, Paola Nuez, Siena Agudong, Tamara Smart, and Adeline Rudolph are the cast members of the Resident Evil franchise. The series’ showrunner, executive producer, and co-writer alongside Mary Leah Sutton is Supernatural producer Andrew Dabb. Martin Moszkowicz is a producer, along with Constantin Film’s Robert Kulzer and Oliver Berben serving as executive producers.
