Disney’s cinematic version adapted from the classic fable “Pinocchio,” starring Tom Hanks as Geppetto, is slated to premiere exclusively on Disney+.

The live-action adaptation of Disney’s 1940 animated masterpiece will make its worldwide debut on Disney+ on September 8, 2022. This is just in time for Disney+ Day, the Mouse House’s commemoration of the streamer’s debut last year. According to Disney, in addition to “Pinocchio,” the firm will reveal other Disney+ Day premieres in the “coming months” from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.
A trailer for “Pinocchio” is also revealed by Disney. Joining Tom Hanks are Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Cynthia Erivo, Lorraine Bracco, Keegan-Michael Key, and Luke Evans
Robert Zemeckis is seating on the director’s chair of Disney’s live-action Pinocchio based on the iconic children’s story by Italian author Carlo Collodi from a screenplay he co-wrote with Chris Weitz. It will revolve around the wooden puppet who has the desire of becoming a “real boy,” father-son relationship, the consequences of lying and fabricating tales and living in a fantasy world.
