    On Sunday, March 27, ABC broadcasted the 2022 Academy Awards event live from Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre. The annual awards show kicked off with a bang, courtesy of co-hosts Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes, and Regina Hall, and some winners have already been named.

    At tonight’s event, some of the world’s top cinematic stars will be honored, from Denzel Washington and Nicole Kidman to Will Smith and Penélope Cruz (Washington, Kidman, and Cruz all won it in the past). Meanwhile, superstars such as Beyoncé, Kristen Stewart, and Billie Eilish were recognized with their very first Academy Award nominations this year, as were up-and-coming actors such as Ariana DeBose from West Side Story, Troy Kotsur from CODA, and Kodi Smit-McPhee from The Power of the Dog, who all riveted a big impression with their recent on-screen performances.
