The Straw Hat Pirates are brought to life in live action!

The first photographs from the upcoming One Piece series on Netflix have been released.
Netflix made the official announcement of One Piece‘s arrival on its platform on Monday morning. Fans were given a glimpse at the primary Straw Hat Pirates characters in the two promotional photographs that Netflix released along with the news.
Along with Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, a production studio that also worked on Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop, the creator of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda, will serve as an executive producer on the live-action series. The series is being adapted for the streamer by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda.
Iaki Godoy plays Monkey D. Luffy in the One Piece cast, along with Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Morgan Davies as Koby, Ilia Isorel’s Paulino as Alvida, Aidan Scott as Helmeppo, Jeff Ward as Buggy, McKinley Belcher III as Arlong, Peter Gad
The manga series follows Monkey D. Luffy as he commands his squad of pirates in a quest for the “One Piece,” the ultimate loot, in an effort to succeed as the Pirate King. Their trip takes them over the Grand Line to a variety of fascinating islands and waters.
The One Piece manga inspired a multi-media franchise that includes an anime series by Toei Animation and a festival film made by Japan’s Production I.G. The One Piece manga has been published over 490 million copies to date.
