Die-hard fans of Eiichiro Oda’s original manga series have a lot to look forward to in the next year, as not only are the anime and manga releases heating up, but the brand is also gearing up for a third prong of assault with the release of its next feature film. It’s another reason for fans to sit on the edge of their seats, but there are still so many unknowns about what the upcoming movie will be like.
Eiichiro Oda, creator of the original series, will serve as creative producer and will also create new designs for the film. The Straw Hat crew is undergoing a massive change for this new movie, much like every previous adventure in the series and every other film. The Japanese release date of One Piece: Red is presently set for 6th August, however no information has been released as to whether the current delays caused by Toei Animation’s recent breach would have an influence on that date. Unfortunately, there has been no information on worldwide distribution schedule as of this writing. The plot of the film has also been kept under wraps, so no one is sure what to anticipate.
