The One Piece series on Netflix will now include actor Young Luffy! Colton Osorio, who starred in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, has recently been cast in the highly anticipated series as the younger Monkey D. Luffy!

By posting a photo of Colton Osorio to announce the casting, the official Netflix One Piece Twitter account has confirmed the information. Osorio might very well appear in the opening episode of the series, Romance Dawn, even if it’s uncertain how many episodes young Luffy will appear in.
It should come as no surprise that the One Piece cast is happy with the casting. The elder version of Luffy, played by Iñaki Godoy, shared a number of Instagram stories with his younger co-star. Osorio has obviously been warmly received by the actors, and we can’t wait to watch him soon.

Only a few days had passed since Red-Haired Shanks was sighted on the set of the live-action One Piece series before Colton Osorio was cast. Peter Gadiot, who starred in Yellowjackets, will take on the role of the pirate who acts as Luffy’s tutor in both the manga and the anime. We’re already excited to see Shanks and young Luffy together.
Along with Taz Skylar as Sanji, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, Emily Rudd as Nami, and Mackenyu Arata as Roronoa Zoro, these actors play other members of the primary Straw Hats crew in the One Piece series. The series will also star Vincent Regan as Garp, Steven Ward as Mihawk, Aidan Scott as Helmeppo, Alexander Maniatis as Klahadore, Morgan Davies as Koby, Ilia Isorel’s Paulino as Alvida, and McKinley Belcher III as Arlong. Other characters that appear in the series include Chef Zeff played by Craig Fairbrass, Kaya by Celeste Loots, Captain Morgan by Langley Kirkwood, and Nojiko by Chioma Umeala.
An official release date has not yet been announced for the One Piece Netflix series.
