The first glimpse at the Star Wars spinoff series Obi-Wan Kenobi, featuring the reappearance of Ewan McGregor as the Jedi elder, was shown off to Disney stockholders.
Obi-Wan Kenobi arrives on Disney+ on May 25, ten years after Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, in which the title character suffered his greatest defeat — the corruption and downfall of his closest friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who became the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.
The teaser includes a brief glimpse of Joel Edgerton’s Owen Lars, who plays Luke’s uncle. The Grand Inquisitor (Ruper Friend) may also be seen in one of the images.
Darth Vader is once again played by Hayden Christensen. Moses Ingram, Bonnie Piesse, Joel Edgerton, Indira Varma, Kumail Nanjiani, Rupert Friend, Simone Kessell, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, and Benny Safdie will all join the film’s cast.
Deborah Chow helmed the series, whose executive producers are Michelle Rejwan, Kathleen Kennedy, Ewan McGregor, Deborah Chow, and Joby Harold.
