Now that the release of Jordan Peele’s new film Nope is approaching faster than ever, it’s past time for us to learn more about the tale. All we knew from previous promotional materials and videos was that the film revolved around the danger from above, but the new trailer exposes exactly what that threat is and how the people on the ground react to it. In late July, the horror picture will be released.

The trailer verifies what was hinted at in the teaser released last week: Extraterrestrials are posing a menace from above. Given Peele’s proclivity for twisting and turning horror themes, it’s not out of the question that there’s still something concealed from us. However, the big guns are there: gigantic UFOs soaring through the clouds, a group abduction, and a large spacecraft that signals the aliens aren’t interested in making friendly contact.
The teaser also reveals the two key stories that appear to be running concurrently in the film: In one, onscreen twins Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer vow to give it their all to capture the most authentic extraterrestrial video possible in order to show what they’re witnessing isn’t a fake. In the other, Steven Yeun plays a cult leader who speaks to a crowd of followers who have gathered to see something he’s caught. Is it an extraterrestrial? Although the storylines are interwoven, the trailer does not explain when or how they do so.
Jordan Peele also wrote Nope, which is the filmmaker’s first picture since Us, which was the follow-up to his ground-breaking debut and Academy Award winner Get Out. Peele has swiftly established himself as one of the most prominent figures in the horror industry since making the transition from performing in comedies to directing horror films, and his upcoming film is eagerly awaited by fans.
Michael Wincott, Terry Notary, Barbie Ferreira, Donna Mills, Brandon Perea, Sophia Coto, Jennifer Lafleur, and Keith David round out the cast of Nope.
The film Nope will be released in cinemas on July 22nd. The following is a link to the trailer:
