In a new teaser, Nickelodeon and eOne have announced the title of the upcoming Transformers animated series, as well as a first peek at the series. Hasbro initially confirmed that the series started off in 2020. The forthcoming Nickelodeon series will premiere in the fall of 2022.
Transformers has been a part of many generations’ childhood memories for the last 28 years, as youngsters have watched the shapeshifting fights between the heroic Autobots and the villainous Decepticons. The conflict of bio-mechanical lifeforms has reached Earth from the distant planet of Cybertron, and both sides must now disguise themselves as vehicles to blend in on this new world. Along with films, comics, games, and the original toy line, Transformers animated series have helped maintain the franchise in the public’s attention, with 26 episodes have shown up to now. Following the completion of Netflix’s more fan-oriented Transformers: War for Cybertron series, Nickelodeon has officially unveiled the new program that will bring the franchise to a new generation.
Transformers: Earthspark is the title of the upcoming Transformers animated series, which was unveiled by Hasbro, Nickelodeon, and eOne. Additionally, the series was confirmed to be an action-comedy that would introduce both new and returning fans to a new generation of Transformers born on Earth and the human family that assists in their care. Transformers: Earthspark is a funny, heartwarming, and uplifting story that centers on the family bonding with the new robots in disguise, alongside fan favorites such as Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. The series is executive produced by Ant Ward and Dale Malinowski of Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ciro Nieli of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Nicole Dubrik of Transformers: Rescue Bots. Additionally, a teaser trailer was released, previewing the series’ tone, action, and new cast. Take a look at the following:
Along with Transformers: Earthspark, the Transformers will make a return to live-action film in 2024. The unnamed Transformers animated film, which is currently set to release on July 19, 2024, will be directed by Toy Story 4 director Josh Cooley. While it is uncertain if the animated feature will be connected to the live-action film franchise, it will follow the 2023 release of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Rise of the Beasts will follow the events of 2018’s Bumblebee and pit the Autobots against three new Cybertronian factions: the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons. Paramount has assured fans that this is merely the beginning of a new trilogy, as the company has confirmed the creation of two further films.
While the film franchise aims to adapt several fan favorites, Transformers: Earthspark promises to offer a new perspective for a new generation. The series will include all-new characters and an intriguing idea in which spectators will go across the world alongside its youthful protagonists. While famous Transformers such as Optimus Prime and other returning Transformers will feature, Transformers: Earthspark will usher the series into a daring new era on television in Fall 2022.
