A brand-new teaser for The Sandman sheds more light on the impending series and its release date on Netflix.
The adaptation of The Sandman by Neil Gaiman has been in the works for decades. Joseph Gordon Levitt was formerly tapped to direct and star in a feature film; however, the project later transitioned into a television series, and Netflix struck a deal with Warner Bros. to produce the show.
In the celebration of Geeked Week, Netflix has released a fresh look at The Sandman, which provides a clearer look at the forthcoming adaptation starring Tom Sturridge as Dream and teases the Dreaming. The release date of The Sandman has also been revealed in the new teaser. You can watch the series’ trailer and see the new character posters below.
The series’ cast features Tom Sturridge, Vivienne Acheampong, Gwendoline Christie, Boyd Holbrook, Asim Chaudhry, Charles Dance, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Jenna Coleman, David Thewlis, Patton Oswalt, Joely Richardson, Stephen Fry, and Mark Hamill.
Allan Heinberg, who also co-wrote “Wonder Woman,” is now working on “Sandman” as a showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Neil Gaiman and David S. Goyer will not only be the project’s writers, but they will also serve as executive producers.
The Sandman will be available to stream on Netflix On August 5, 2022.
