
Netflix has acquired the global distribution rights to Sony Pictures’ forthcoming action-comedy The Man From Toronto.
The film, starring Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson, was initially scheduled for release in 2020 but was delayed owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. As soon as it was announced that the picture will be released in 2021, the picture was moved back to August 12, 2022.

However, as a result of Netflix’s acquisition of the film’s rights, the movie will now debut exclusively on their streaming site later this year.

Kaley Cuoco, Jasmine Mathews, Ellen Barkin, Lela Loren, Pierson Fode, and Jencarlos Canela co-star in the film with Hart and Harrelson.
It all begins with a case of mistaken identity in which The Man from Toronto (Harrelson), the world’s deadliest assassin, is mistaken for a New York City screw-up (Hart) while staying at an Airbnb apartment. The film will be helmed by Patrick Hughes (Hitman’s Bodyguard, Red Hill).

Inspired by a story by Robbie Fox and Jason Blumenthal (Playing for Keeps), the screenplay is written by Robbie Fox (Masters of the Universe). Tod Black and Steve Tisch of Escape Artists (The Upside) will join Blumenthal in producing the film.
Netflix will release The Man From Toronto on August 12th, 2022.
