
Iman Vellani will play Kamala Khan, a Muslim high school girl in New Jersey who is transformed into the MCU’s newest hero, in Ms. Marvel. While Tom Holland’s Peter Parker was originally presented as a huge fan of Tony Stark and the Avengers, Kamala is more of an obvious fangirl, reflecting real-life fan culture in the MCU. In the series, she even appears in Captain Marvel costume, which is depicted on the new poster, which includes a little image of Kamala dressed as Carol Danvers immediately above the series logo.
The new image was released under the tagline “In 50 days, Kamala Khan’s journey starts” on Marvel Studios’ Twitter account. Kamala is dressed as Ms. Marvel in the vivid design, which also includes most of the supporting characters from the series. The colorful assortment of hand-drawn pictures in the poster’s backdrop appears to allude to the series’ comic-book-inspired visuals, which were previewed in the promotional trailer. Iman Vellani‘s Ms.Marvel will star alongside Brie Larson‘s Captain Marvel and Teyonah Parris‘ Monica Rambeau in next year’s The Marvels, following the Disney Plus series.
Iman Vellani, Saagar Shaikh, Fawad Khan, Aramis Knight, Matt Lintz, Zenobia Shroff, Rish Shah, Mohan Kapur, and Mehwish Hayat are among the cast members of Ms. Marvel.
On June 8th, Ms. Marvel will launch on Disney Plus.
