Disney+’s upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe series, Ms. Marvel, has now released a featurette highlighting Kamala Khan, with commentary from head writer Bisha K. Ali, Kevin Feige, and Iman Vellani. The series is set to premiere on Disney+ on June 8th.
The film, which you can see here, provides a glimpse into the Muslim teen hero’s life, including awkward high school moments, family strife, and boy-related issues. It also emphasizes one of her powers, the capacity to manifest light. They also addressed Kamala‘s internal struggle over whether or not she deserved to be a superhero.
Iman Vellani, a rookie to acting, makes her debut as Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel, which also marks the live-action debut of the beloved Marvel character. Also joining Vellani are Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Mohan Kapur, Zenobia Shroff, Matt Lintz, Laith Naki, Travina Springer, Yasmeen Fletcher, Azher Usman, and Nimra Bucha.
Executive producers Meera Menon, Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy are in charge of directing Ms. Marvel, while executive producer Bisha K. Ali is on board as the show’s chief writer.
