The nominees for the 43rd Golden Raspberry Awards (also known as the Razzies), which “celebrate” the worst movies of 2022, have been announced. With eight nominations, the contentious Netflix movie Blonde led the field. It was followed by the critically panned comedy Good Mourning, which received seven.

Morbius, a Sony-Marvel production, was nominated for five awards, including those for Worst Picture, Worst Actor (Jared Leto), Worst Supporting Actress (Adria Arjona), Worst Director (Daniel Espinosa), and Worst Screenplay.
Morbius gets the “privilege” of being called one of the worst movies of 2022.
Other critically derided movies from the previous year competing for the top prize include Blonde, Good Mourning, Pinocchio (the Disney live-action adaptation of the cartoon classic), and The King’s Daughter.
Leto, an Oscar winner himself, is up against actors like Machine Gun Kelly (Good Mourning), Peter Davidson (Marmaduke), Sylvester Stallone (Samaritan), and fellow Oscar winner Tom Hanks (Pinocchio) in the main actor categories.
Despite having the lowest Rotten Tomatoes score of the three films, Jurassic World Dominion managed to secure three nominations, including one each for Worst Actress for Bryce Dallas Howard, Worst Remake/Rip-off/Sequel, and Worst Screenplay.
According to the list of nominees, the Razzie Awards are undoubtedly carrying on their history of recognizing movies that both reviewers and viewers thought poorly of. Whether you agree with the list or not, there is no denying that these movies have been brought up when talking about the worst of the previous year.
In contrast to other award seasons, this is the one where the movies don’t want to “win,” therefore it will be interesting to see which one ultimately succeeds and is “crowned” as the worst film of 2022, earning entry into the Razzie Hall of Fame.
