Today, Lionsgate announced that disaster cinema icon Roland Emmerich‘s latest film Moonfall will be released on Digital, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD in April.
Former astronaut Jo Fowler, played by Oscar winner Halle Berry, works to save humanity from an impending terrible disaster in the film. Brian Harper, a former coworker played by Patrick Wilson from the Conjuring franchise, and K.C. Houseman, a conspiracy theorist played by John Bradley from Game of Thrones, join her on her mission. They’ll work together to keep the Moon from colliding with the Earth after it was thrown out of orbit by an unknown source. The team will have only a few weeks to avert the coming disaster.

Roland Emmerich, who previously helmed Independence Day, is directing the film. Roland Emmerich, Harald Kloser, and Spenser Cohen wrote Moonfall. Along with Berry, Wilson, and Bradley, the picture also features Donald Sutherland, who is most known for his role in the film Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Sutherland plays a NASA archivist who holds some of space travel’s darkest secrets.
