Moon Knight‘s launch did well for Disney+, while Bridgerton remained supreme in the Nielsen streaming rankings in the first full week following its second season premiere.
Moon Knight, starring Oscar Isaac, received 418 million minutes of viewing time from March 28 to April 3 (it aired on March 30), placing it seventh among original streaming series. That puts it on par with the launch of WandaVision (434 million minutes) in January 2021, but a little behind The Falcon and the Winter Soldier from last spring (495 million). The largest launches among Marvel’s Disney+ offerings were Hawkeye (853 million minutes for a two-episode premiere) and Loki (731 million).
All of the previous series featured characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Moon Knight is the first to focus on a new character.
Bridgerton was the most popular streaming title for the second week in a row, with 3.2 billion minutes of viewing time, up 25.5 percent from the previous week. On Disney+, it received more than four times the amount of viewing time as the second-placed title, Encanto (744 million minutes).
Get Organized With the Home Edit made its debut on the original series list (241 million minutes). The Dropout (190 million) re-entered the top ten a week before its conclusion on Hulu.
The time spent on laptops and mobile devices is not included in Nielsen’s streaming figures, which only cover minutes watched on TV sets. Only Apple TV+, Disney+, Hulu, Netflix, and Prime Video are presently included in the ratings, which do not include viewers from other countries.
