Hannah Waddingham, who starred in the Ted Lasso film, has officially joined the cast of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two, according to director Christopher McQuarrie, who announced the news on Instagram.
The film serves as the eighth and last chapter in the popular spy action series. Waddingham’s character is still being kept under wraps in terms of specifics. In spite of this, McQuarrie has already released a picture of her unnamed character.

Waddingham first rose to prominence for her iconic portrayal of Septa Unella in Game of Thrones. She drew praise for her breakthrough role in the comedy Ted Lasso on Apple TV+, for which she won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
After the previous two movies’ enormous critical and box office successes, writer/director Christopher McQuarrie signed a contract with the company to return to pen and helm the following two entries. Returning franchise veterans Rebecca Ferguson (Doctor Sleep), Simon Pegg (Ready Player One), Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction), Vanessa Kirby (Hobbs & Shaw), and Henry Czerny will appear alongside Tom Cruise and Hayley Atwell in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning.
The upcoming films will introduce Mission: Impossible newcomers Shea Whigham (Joker), and Esai Morales (La Bamba, Titans), Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road), who was cast in the villain role, will be replaced by Pom Klementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Avengers: Infinity War). Dead Reckoning Part Two will also feature Nick Offerman, Holt McCallany, and Janet McTeer in addition to Waddingham.
The first and second parts of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning will be made available on July 14th, 2023, and June 28th, 2024, respectively.
