Minions: The Rise of Gru, released last month, has gotten off a strong start. The animated picture broke box office records during the July 4th weekend, surpassing the 2011 earnings of Transformers: The Last Knight. The film has a current rating of 71% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on favorable reviews from reviewers. A significant increase in ticket sales may be ascribed to the “GentleMinions” TikTok craze, which seems to be waning. However, some two months after the film’s release, it officially earned $500 million at the foreign box office, bringing its total global earnings to $868,8 million.

In Minions: The Rise of Gru, Gru (Carell) is a 12-year-old child in 1970s suburbia, preparing to take over the world from his basement, long before he becomes the lord of evil. Things are not going very well. When Gru meets the Minions, Kevin, Stuart, Bob, and Otto – a new Minion with braces and a strong desire to please — this unexpected family joins forces. Together, they construct their first lair, develop their first weapons, and endeavor to carry out their first tasks.
Minions: The Rise of Gru is still in cinemas.
