There’s little denying that everyone is sad when Warner Bros. Discovery eventually decided to bury the movie, including the Batgirl cast and crew. Michael Keaton may also be affected by this, but at least the Beetlejuice actor was able to walk away with a sizable payday. According to a recent story, Keaton received $2 million for a “glorified cameo” in the canceled HBO Max film as Batman.

Even though Michael Keaton was only involved with Batgirl for a brief period of time, he didn’t labor for nothing.
After taking part in approximately a week’s worth of work, which sources referred as a glorified cameo, Keaton reportedly got $2 million for Batgirl, the $90 million movie that Warner Bros. Discovery finally canceled.
Given that many anticipated Michael Keaton to have a bigger part in the movie as Bruce Wayne, it’s an intriguing surprise. Batman appears to have had little involvement with the project, though.
Bruce Wayne will still appear in upcoming DC Extended Universe films, even if we won’t get to witness how “glorified” his appearance in Batgirl was. In addition to his confirmed role in The Flash, the article also says that Keaton will feature in the Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom prequel.
It’s disappointing that Batgirl won’t be available on any platform and that Leslie Grace won’t be playing Barbara Gordon. Fans are still hoping that Warner Bros. Discovery would reconsider its decision to broadcast the film.
The Flash, which is slated for release on June 23, 2023, will have Michael Keaton reprising his role as Batman. Then, in Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, which is scheduled to debut on December 25, 2023, he will make a comeback.
