Charlize Theron is officially a part of the MCU Universe.
Six days after the release of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” Theron uploaded the first official image of her as Clea, the character introduced in the mid-credits sequence of the Marvel Studios film.
Theron’s casting as Clea has been speculated over the previous several weeks as information about the various surprises in “Multiverse of Madness” started to leak across the internet. But Theron’s post is the first time the Oscar-winning actress has admitted she’s portraying the role.

In the film, Theron emerges in full sorcerer regalia when Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) is going down the street. She told him that his multiverse hopping antics from the film have triggered an “incursion” across realities, which, as it sounds, like a bad thing. After shredding the fabric of reality to expose a portal to the Dark Dimension — i.e. Clea’s home — she asked Strange to accompany her to repair the damage, and he does.
At this moment, where Theron’s version of Clea will go within the MCU is still kept under wraps, but the post-credit sequence clearly hints that she and Cumberbatch will lead the next “Doctor Strange” movie. Given that Theron is one of the most well-known established actresses to have joined Marvel Studios, it also seems plausible that Clea might have made a splash inside the MCU.
