Following the arrival of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD on Disney Plus on May 20, the platform’s unofficial holiday that Roku established years ago, there will be a viewing party for the series today, and it has been confirmed that there will be a live Twitter for the first episode.
On Twitter, Disney Plus proudly announced that an Agents of SHIELD viewing party will take place today on the streaming platform in honor of Roku’s unofficial holiday, National Streaming Day, which takes place every May 20th. This will be applied to the Disney Bundle, which includes Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN.
Many MCU fans hope that the beloved series’ characters will appear in the franchise in some fashion. There’s Phil Coulson, who initially appeared in the MCU before making the leap to the series, as well as Jemma Simmons, Leopold Fitz, Skye/ Daisy Johnson, Al MacKenzie, and Melinda May, and others.
Agents of SHIELD has seven seasons in total. It all started with Phil Coulson’s resurrection from the dead, thanks to some form of extraterrestrial blood that was subsequently revealed to be Kree in the series. The Inhumans, life model decoys, Ghost Rider, space travel, Kree invasion, and eventually time travel were all included in the series.
Because there are so many discrepancies in the timeline at the end of the episode, Agents of SHIELD is not yet considered canon. There were still some MCU ties in the early part of the program, but the tale had wandered fairly far by the second half.
Still, because Daredevil has been given a second chance and is now a member of the MCU with his own series, making the transition from Netflix to Disney Plus, everything is possible, right?
The Agents of SHIELD watch party is today on Disney Plus at 6:30 p.m. PT/ 9:30 p.m. ET.
