Marvel fans continue to support Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange 2.
The highly anticipated Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has finally arrived in cinemas after months of anticipation. Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, will be the film’s principal adversary, alongside Benedict Cumberbatch‘s titular hero. Given that this is Olsen‘s first major villain role, the Scarlet Witch appears to have become a new favorite anti-hero for fans.
In 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Elizabeth Olsen makes her screen debut as Wanda Maximoff. Wanda has seen considerable character growth since her inception as a villain and has allied with the Avengers. Wanda later featured in a number of significant flicks over the Infinity Saga, and her strength grew to the point where she nearly dismembered Thanos in Avengers: Endgame.
Just when we thought Wanda had reached her pinnacle, Disney+’s WandaVision further enhanced the character. Wanda cast a Hex over the whole town of Westview in the events of WandaVision to establish her own world in which Vision still exists. The series’ conclusion shaped Wanda into her comic counterpart, the Scarlet Witch, a powerful character in the Marvel Universe.
Wanda is now slated to oppose Cumberbatch‘s eponymous sorcerer in the next sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, now that she has completely transformed into the Scarlet Witch and her power continues to increase even more. Marvel fans are still pulling for Wanda or Scarlet Witch, despite the unexpected twist with Olsen’s character.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, rooting for the anti-hero is nothing new. With characters like Killmonger from Black Panther, Hela from Thor: Ragnarok, and now MCU veteran Loki.
Wanda has unquestionably established herself as one of our favorite characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the Doctor Strange sequel will almost certainly not be the character’s final appearance, given that the actress might still be featured in major plotlines in future films. Apart from that, Olsen is said to have signed a seven-year contract extension with Marvel Studios, indicating that Wanda’s future is bright.
For now, we can see Elizabeth Olsen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which is currently showing in cinemas throughout the world.
