Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 4 Starts Receiving Critics From Fans

With multiple projects having been launched in cinemas and on Disney+ over the previous 18 months, Marvel Studios is releasing additional material in Phase 4. A number of MCU fans are beginning to criticize Phase 4 of the MCU for its increased output relative to its quality, even though many of those projects are seeing success.

Many expectations were skyrocketing when the MCU Phase 3 provided a gigantic scale with Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, especially after an 18-month delay caused by the pandemic. Fans’ responses to both the TV programs and the films have been inconsistent since the MCU projects’ release schedule was restarted in early 2021.

Even though there have been some fan favorites like Spider-Man: No Way Home and WandaVision, other efforts, like the What If…? series and Eternals, haven’t garnered the same enthusiasm.

As new MCU Phase 4 projects are launched, the fan reactions continue to vary. Ms. Marvel on Disney+ is presently nearing its conclusion, while Thor: Love and Thunder will shortly hit theaters. In recent days, various MCU fans have posted on social media to discuss their opinions about the upcoming Phase 4 projects; some of them are positive, while others are not.

On Twitter, a large number of Marvel fans voiced some of their complaints about Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, while others commented on the Ms. Marvel television series and the impending Thor: Love and Thunder movie.

I really don’t think Phase 4 has been the tremendous fall off in terms of quality that many people say, I think people are just fatigued with the franchise at this point on top of people finding it harder to care for post-Endgame stakes

I think people are forgetting how mediocre the first two phases of the mcu are… To think that those two phases are better then phase 4 is wild. Phase 3 just spoiled everyone with how good it was. #MCU #Marvel #ThorLoveAndThunder

i’m sensing a pattern of critics not enjoying phase 4 compared to the previous marvel phases when phase 4 has such different styles and way deeper meanings than the previous movies

The latest episode of Ms Marvel is the epitome of what’s wrong with this Phase of the MCU/the shows in general.

I’ve been a strong advocate for phase 4 for the most part, but what the hell was that. Choppy plot with no direction seemingly. Typical penultimate episode stuff. pic.twitter.com/Tm8OFqTOf6

#ThorLoveAndThunder currently has 71% on Rotten Tomatoes with 73 reviews.

MCU Phase 4 has been quite mid tbh… only enjoyed a couple of the shows, most have been cringe or boring, quite a few of the movies have been meh, and the CGI through all of this has been significantly worse than previous phases. Why is the MCU going backwards as a whole?

    — TheUnknownOne (@TheUnknownLurks) July 5, 2022

Love and Thunder is getting pretty bad reviews. Lol

MCU Phase 4 has been the weakest from the movie side.

    — G (@_SimplyG) July 5, 2022

Ngl phase 4 has been a mixed bag to say the least

    — Drippy (the one piece stan) (@drippy_darkseid) July 5, 2022

The MCU has undoubtedly seen ups and downs over the years. With almost thirty films and multiple TV series, there are likely to be certain ventures that may not appeal to all fans.
