The teaser for Netflix‘s A Madea Homecoming has been revealed, and the streaming service has confirmed that it will premiere next month. Tyler Perry, the multi-hyphenate media magnate, has announced his comeback to the series to bring Madea back to life after announcing his retirement in the 2019 film A Madea Family Funeral. The forthcoming film will follow Perry’s departure from Lionsgate and will revolve upon an LGBTQ+ plot, starring the return of Perry as the lead character, Tamela J. Mann as Cora, David Mann as Mr. Brown, and Cassi Davis Patton as Aunt Bam.
Finally, Netflix has released the official teaser for the Madea franchise’s 12th chapter, in which Madea is shown to be around 95 years old. The teaser teases the comeback of the adored grandma for her great-graduation, grandson’s with Big Freedia’s song “Karaoke,” featuring Lizzo, playing in the background. Things go awry when Madea’s family gathers to commemorate the historic occasion, as the trailer depicts Mr. Brown failing to start a fire for a barbeque celebration, as well as possible family conflict. Madea is later shown in the trailer talking with her family about being 20 in 1955, and her family guesses her age to be approximately 95. Below is a link to the complete trailer:
Madea will be 87 years old in 2022, according to the calculations, despite her family’s estimations that she is approximately 95 years old. Madea’s age and circumstances of her early life, on the other hand, have always been hypothetical, with nothing conclusively proven. Hopefully, Mabel, the drama prequel series on Madea’s early years, will provide more definitive answers regarding the renowned figure. A Madea Homecoming, on the other hand, is set to launch on Netflix on February 25.
