Zach Galifianakis is partnered with Maia Kealoha in the remake of the beloved Disney animated film from 2002.

Her Lilo has been found by Disney. Rumor has it that Disney’s live-action rendition of the iconic animated movie from 2002 will star Maia Kealoha as Lilo.
The movie, which is slated to have a major release on Disney+, is directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the indie darling and Oscar nominee for best-animated feature Marcel the Shell With Shoes On.
Disney opted not to respond.
The Hawaii-focused narrative describes the friendship that developed between a lonely human girl named Lilo and an alien named Stitch who was created through genetic engineering to be a destructive force. The two come together over a shared sense of family and save the day in the face of prying social workers and pursuing aliens. In February, Zach Galifianakis joined the cast.
Written by Christopher Kekaniokalani Bright, the adaptation’s script. Despite its initial failure, the original picture, which was written and directed by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois, attracted a devoted following that has only grown over time.
