Disney and Pixar have dropped a new trailer for the impending Chris Evans-led Toy Story spin-off, Lightyear.
Lightyear delves into the origins of the Buzz Lightyear character, who acts as the inspiration for Andy’s Toy Story toy. While little is known about formal specifics about the film and its relation to the Toy Story series at the moment, it is probable that it is a film inside a film – that is, a film that the characters in Toy Story may watch before purchasing tie-related merchandise using Tim Allen’s voice skills. Due to the fact that this is not the same Buzz Lightyear as in Toy Story, the character has been recast with Marvel’s Captain America actor, Chris Evans.
The new Lightyear trailer sheds more light on Chris Evans‘ Buzz in action, along with his friends Star Command astronauts, as well as provides further narrative insights. The film will supposedly follow Buzz as he travels 62 years into the future and encounters alien invaders — most likely headed by the wicked Emperor Zurg, who is also peered in the video. Take a look at the following:

The teaser also rolls out many of the film’s supporting characters, including Uzo Aduba as Buzz’s Star Command ally, Alisha Hawthorne, and Keke Palmer as Alisha’s future granddaughter, Izzy. Mo Morrison created by Taika Waititi, and Darby Steel created by Dale Soules, both appear, as does Sox, Buzz’s robotic cat buddy.
Lightyear is slated to open in cinemas on June 17, 2022.
