Life has some things that could be seen for certain: death, taxes, and Liam Neeson appearing in annual movies where he beats bad guys to a pulp. The explosive, action-packed trailer for the latest movie can be only revealed by Collider: directed by Mark Williams, Blacklight stars Neeson as Travis Block, a freelance state “fixer” whose family is endangered when Block approaches to reveal the horrible government secrets. These villains obviously never watched Taken, else the fundamental rule they should know: whatever you do, never hurt Neeson’s family.
In the trailer, lotta guns, fistfights, and exploding cars are revealed together with several amazing rejoinders that you’d only enjoy in a thrilling Neeson vehicle. Similar to Taken, an unpredictably tender emotional core is also displayed: consider the scene close to the end of the trailer, where Block has some valuable time with his granddaughter, who lovingly asks “are you a good guy?” (His reaction shows that he barely knows himself.)
Nevertheless, it’s still a fantastic year for fans of shoot ’em up Neeson vehicles: director Martin Campbell’s Memory stars Neeson and Aussie actor Guy Pearce, is available in theaters in April.

See the trailer, and examine the film’s poster (“they’re gonna need more men,” really) below. From February 11, Blacklight exclusively releases in theaters. Does that mean Neeson is fueled on the Valentine’s Days cards? Aidan Quinn and Emmy Raver-Lampman also join Blacklight.
