The highly anticipated follow-up to last year’s Godzilla vs. Kong, from Legendary, has reportedly begun filming in Australia, according to 7News Brisbane. The film’s release date is currently set for March 15, 2024. When the sequel hits theaters, it won’t have any rivals in the same market. It will be released in the same month, though, as two other well-known films, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse and A Quiet Place: Day One.
Adam Wingard is once again in charge of directing the upcoming fifth entry in the popular series. After working together on the 2014 horror The Guest, Dan Stevens, who is most known for his role in Legion, will return for the Godzilla vs. Kong sequel.
Although further information regarding the project is currently under wraps, initial reports from last year indicated that it would have the working title Son of Kong. Eric McLeod will once more produce the project.
The screenplay for the 2021 movie was written by Eric Pearson and Max Borenstein, with Wingard directing. Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Alexander Skarsgrd, Brian Tyree Henry, and others were featured. This 2021 movie premiered in theaters and on HBO Max at the same time, yet it still managed to bring in more than $460 million at the global box office.
