The producers of the recently shelved Batgirl movie stated that Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios, contacted them as soon as the bad news broke.

An email from Feige to Adil El Arbi and co-director Bilall Fallah is depicted in a narrative Adil El Arbi put on his Instagram. In the email, Feige wishes El Arbi well with his approaching nuptials and expresses disappointment about the cancellation of Batgirl. Feige still expressed delight in their effort and said he’s eager to see what the team will do next.
El Arbi and Fallah were executive producers and directed two episodes of Ms. Marvel, thus Feige has already collaborated with them.

Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Gotham City police commissioner James Gordon, was supposed to be played by Leslie Grace (In the Heights). The late Yvonne Craig played Barbara in the 1967 Batman television series, where the hero first appeared. Her debut comic book appearance was in Gardner Fox and Carmine Infantino’s Detective Comics #357.
