The opening night previews for Jurassic World Dominion brought in $18 million in the North American market.
Jurassic World Dominion by Universal Pictures has finally hit cinemas after being pushed back in light of the pandemic outbreak. Even though the film has received negative to mixed reviews from reviewers, it can’t prevent fans from pouring into movie theaters to watch the picture on its premiere night.
The sequel debuted with $18 million on Thursday night previews alone, and early tracking indicates that it will debut with $125 million domestically. Following on from the success of Top Gun: Maverick, this weekend promises to be another record-breaking one for moviegoing this summer.
After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic that halted the film industry, it is now getting back on its feet, and Jurassic World Dominion is the latest blockbuster to continue that resurgence in 2022. Hybrid distribution techniques were tested by some firms in the year 2021, notably, Warner Bros. as it released its theatrical pictures day-and-date on HBO Max and Disney making use of Premier Access for Black Widow and Jungle Cruise.
