Dinosaurs continue to reign supreme at the box office. Jurassic World Dominion, which crossed the $500 million mark on Friday, has now passed another box office milestone by surpassing $600 million worldwide ($622,2 million). However, another box office behemoth, Top Gun: Maverick, is on track to gross $900 million internationally with a current take of $885.2 million, putting the picture on the trajectory for $1 billion. The Disney and Pixar film “Lightyear” had an opening weekend worldwide gross of $85.6 million.
This weekend, Jurassic World Dominion gained $76.1 million across 72 markets. This is a decrease of 54 percent, bringing the worldwide total to $372,4. Given that COVID lockdowns have been lifted in China, the film is doing a very great job in this country. The film is presently China’s top-grossing foreign movie of the year and the third-highest Hollywood release during the epidemic.
Although Jurassic Park Dominion is having a good run at the box office, only time will tell whether the picture will achieve the same level of success as its predecessors, Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, both of which broke the $1 billion mark at the box office. The executives of Universal Pictures have expressed their satisfaction with Dominion’s success up to this point.
