The amount of Lady Gaga’s DC salary for her work on Joker: Folie à Deux has just been made public, and it’s quite staggering. It was recently confirmed that the Poker Face singer and A Star Is Born actress has been cast as the second live-action Harley Quinn in the upcoming Joker sequel, and from the looks of things, she is being treated like a true queen by Warner Bros.

The Joker sequel, which has been labeled a “dark musical,” will pay the multiple award-winning pop star and actress an amount of $10 million for her appearance. Lead actor Joaquin Phoenix and director Todd Phillips will each receive $20 million for the project.
Margot Robbie reportedly made only $347,000 for her work on David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, for comparison. It appears that Gaga would still be earning more money than Robbie did during her first outing as Harley even after accounting for the current rate of inflation, which is astounding, to say the least.
It’s important to remember that Gaga previously declined the invitation to join Birds of Prey; upon reflection, it appears she made the right decision to not serve as Robbie’s understudy. It will be interesting to see how she performs in the role of the iconic DC anti-hero, but given Gaga‘s past performances, I have no doubts she will succeed.
The current release date for Joker: Folie à Deux in theaters is October 4, 2024.
