The budget for the new Joaquin Phoenix-starred film, titled Joker: Folie à Deux, has been revealed, and it is much higher than the budget for the preceding picture.

The film Joker was a smashing success upon its release in 2019. The film, which reportedly has a budget of roughly $55 million, grossed over $1 billion at the box office worldwide, making it the most successful DC film of all time. Despite widespread anticipation, Warner Bros. remained tight-lipped about a sequel until just recently.
The sequel’s official name, Joker: Folie à Deux, was announced earlier this summer. The first trailer also revealed Lady Gaga’s participation in the film, however, it is unclear what role she will play. We now have a ballpark estimate of the budget for the future movie.
A recent article provided a detailed breakdown of the expense of producing Joker: Folie à Deux. It had previously been rumored that both Joaquin Phoenix had earned a significant salary hike and would make $20M for the upcoming film. According to the latest rumor, director Todd Philips is also receiving compensation on par with that. Singer Lady Gaga, a newcomer, will also get $10 million for her role in the film. This, along with the film’s production expenditures, will bring the total to around $150 million, almost three times the cost of the previous picture.
Joker is now available on 4K UHD, DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital, whilst Folie à Deux will be released in cinemas on October 4, 2024.
