Zazie Beetz is set to reprise her role as Sophie Dumond in Joker: Folie à Deux, which also stars Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga.
The Joker sequel is heating up after director Todd Phillips confirmed that the picture will be titled Folie à Deux. Then it was rumored that Lady Gaga was in discussions to play Harley Quinn alongside Joaquin Phoenix in the sequel, which is said to be a musical set mostly in Arkham Asylum.
In a teaser released last week, Warner Bros. announced that Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga will star in Joker: Folie à Deux, as well as revealed the film’s October 2024 release date. In the next sequel, Zazie Beetz will resume her role as Sophie Dumond.
Sophie was thought to be Arthur Fleck’s girlfriend in the first Joker picture until it was discovered that they were only neighbors. The sequel to The Joker is slated to begin the main filming in December.
Joker is directed by Todd Phillips and stars Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Robert De Niro, Bill Camp, Brett Cullen, Josh Pais, Glenn Fleshler, Frances Conroy, Marc Maron, Douglas Hodge, and Shea Whigham.
Joker is currently available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital, while Folie à Deux will be released in cinemas on October 4, 2024.
