Is Mr. Terrific‘s DC Universe debut being teased by James Gunn?

Based on recent remarks from David Zaslav of Warner Bros. Discovery, James Gunn and Peter Safran are close to finishing a blueprint for the future of the DC Universe. Gunn recently shared a portrait of Mr. Terrific on his social media channels, implying that the character is a part of their new DC Universe, even though specifics about their plans are being kept under wraps.
James Gunn published a similar message portraying the DC Comics character Lobo on the social media site Mastodon earlier this month after signing up for the service.
Whether Lobo and Mr. Terrific appear in the DC Universe is still up in the air, but fans are eagerly anticipating it on social media.
Michael Holt, a Golden Age superhero who first appeared in 1997’s Spectre (vol. 3) #54, is the second DC Comics character to assume the title of Mr. Terrific after Terry Sloane. DC luminaries John Ostrander and Tom Mandrake were the creators of Holt.
In the Arrowverse, Echo Kellum portrayed a Mr. Terrific character. Curtis Holt, played by Kellum’s Mr. Teriffic, was first seen in Arrow’s fourth season and continued to have a prominent role in the show through its eighth and final season on The CW.
DC Studios will be overseen by James Gunn and Peter Safran, who agreed to a four-year contract last month. The division oversees DC’s operations in cinema, television, and animation at Warner Bros. Discovery, combining all of the business’s assets linked to comic books under one roof.
Peter Safran will be in charge of managing the business and production while James Gunn will likely concentrate on the DC Universe’s creative direction. They will work with co-heads of the Warner Bros. Film Group Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy and report directly to David Zaslav, head of Warner Bros. Discovery.
