James Gunn has shared his ideas for the DC Universe in the open.

Earlier this year, Peter Safran, the producer of Aquaman and Shazam! films and James Gunn agreed to a four-year contract to co-head Warner Bros. Discovery’s DC Studios division. All of WBD’s DC Entertainment assets are managed by the newly established division, which unifies them under one organization.
The new DC Universe is made up of four different types of content, according to James Gunn, who made this revelation in a fan response on his official Twitter account. Gunn intends to produce a connected universe of film, television, animation, and video game projects, as was made clear in his tweet.
David Zaslav, president of Warner Bros. Discovery, recently hinted that James Gunn and Peter Safran are nearly finished with their multi-year roadmap for the DC Universe. They are keeping their plans under wraps, but Gunn has released a number of cryptic social media posts hinting that they include characters like Lobo and Mister Terrific, among others.
Black Adam, the most recent film in the DC Universe, is currently in theaters and has amassed more than $350 million at the global box office. The earliest that fans will likely see James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU plans is 2024.
The following four DC Universe movies—Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash, Blue Beetle and Aquaman, and the Lost Kingdom—were directed by the previous administration of DC, under the direction of producer Walter Hamada, who is currently employed by Paramount Pictures.
According to sources, Peter Safran will be in charge of business and production while James Gunn would concentrate on the DC Universe’s creative direction. They will work with co-heads of the Warner Bros. Film Group Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy and report directly to David Zaslav, head of Warner Bros. Discovery.
