For five weeks straight, The Way of Water has dominated the movie office!

Avatar: The Way of Water by James Cameron has joined the coveted two-billion-dollar club.
Avatar: The Way of Water is currently the sixth-highest-grossing movie in history, having so far made a little over $2 billion at the worldwide box office. The Way of Water, the eagerly anticipated Avatar sequel, has earned $598 million domestically and $1.426 billion internationally, bringing its overall box office receipts to $2.024 billion as of Sunday, according to Disney.
James Cameron becomes the first filmmaker to have three films grossing over $2 billion at the box office with Avatar: The Way of Water. Avatar and Titanic, films Cameron previously directed, respectively earned $2.923 billion and $2.187 billion worldwide.
With a worldwide box office take of $2.923 billion, the original Avatar film continues to hold the record. The Marvel Studios movie Avengers: Endgame temporarily dethroned the film from the top position on the all-time box office charts until being replaced by a re-release.
With a PG-13 rating and a runtime of 3 hours, and 12 minutes, The Way of Water is around 30 minutes longer than the first installment of the Avatar series. The sequel is well-received by critics as evidenced by the fact that it has a verified fresh rating on the review aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes. Between $350 million and $400 million is allocated to it.
