The 95th Academy Awards have nominated James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water for four awards.

At the 95th Academy Awards, Avatar: The Way of Water is formally nominated for Best Picture, Best Production Design, Best Visual Effects, and Best Sound. Actors Allison Williams and Riz Ahmed unveiled the nominees for the occasion this morning.
The 95th Academy Awards are planned to take place on March 13, 2023, and Jimmy Kimmel will serve as host for the event for the third time. The Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California is where the event is taking place.
The worldwide box office for Avatar: The Way of Water surpassed $2 billion earlier this week. Thanks to the first two installments of the Avatar series and Titanic, James Cameron is the only director in history to have produced three films that have grossed over $2 billion.
The first Avatar film remains the holder of the record with a global box office gross of $2.923 billion. The Marvel Studios film Avengers: Endgame briefly dethroned the film from the top place on the all-time box office charts before being replaced by a re-release.
The Way of Water, which is about 30 minutes longer than the first installment of the Avatar trilogy and is classified PG-13, lasts 3 hours and 12 minutes. The sequel is well-liked by critics as evidenced by the fact that it has a certified fresh rating on the review aggregate website Rotten Tomatoes. Budget estimates range between $350 and $400 million.
